Tuesday Morning Sketch #178
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
I hope you are enjoying the holiday with your family! We're doing things a little different this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches... there is NO SKETCH! This is an open challenge, but with a little bit of a twist... we want you to challenge yourself! Maybe there is a technique you've been wanting to try out, or a fancy fold you've never done. Or maybe (like me) you came across an awesome crafty project on Pinterest that you've been wanting to re-create... well this is your chance to give it a try!
As soon as I saw these hair clips made by the talented Alicia Thelin, I knew I had to make some form of these for my girls! They love to wear pretty flowers and bows in their hair, and I thought it would be a perfect stocking stuffer!

Supplies: Lil' Inker Mini Bow Die; Glitter Felt; Buttons; Thread; Hot Glue Gun; Plastic Barrette
I found some really fun sparkly felt at Michael's, and repurposed some old plastic barrettes that had some not-so-cute Christmas ribbons on them. The bows were cut using the Lil' Inker Designs Mini Bow Die. I assembled the bows, and hot glued them to the barrette. For extra reinforcement, I threaded the button on around the felt bow and barrette... I don't think it's going anywhere!
The Tuesday Morning Sketches team will be judging this weeks entries, and choosing which one we feel really went above and beyond. So be sure to challenge yourself this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Lil' Inker Designs December Release Day 3
It's the last day of Lil' Inker's December Mini Release, and the WHOLE team is participating in today's hop! If you have arrived from Judith's Blog, then you are in the right place. If not, please start over at the Lil' Inker Designs Blog, so you can visit every stop along the hop. And be sure to leave comments at each blog - one lucky winner will be chosen from all the comments to receive a $10 store credit to Lil' Inker Designs!
Here is a look at the *NEW* Snowflake Dies I'm featuring today...
This time, I used the dies to make some clean and simple gift tags. These were very quick to put together, so I made a few dozen of them! I cut the snowflake out of the center of the tag, then backed the negative space with some patterned paper from the Recollections Sugar Plums 6x6 pad. The sentiments are from the Sugar Kissed Cottage sets No Peeking, and Dear Santa.

Here is a close up of one of the tags... the edges are inked with Versamagic Jumbo Java, and the top is finished off with some braided jute twine. Please excuse the flecks of glitter in the photos... I went crazy with the glitter on my snowflake card the other day, and the stuff is EVERYWHERE now!

I'm sure you are ready to continue the hop, so I will send you on our way to Mary's Blog.
Enjoy the rest of today's eye candy, and thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #176
We have a really great sketch designed by Cheryl this week, along with a fun twist! Here's a look at the sketch...

...and the twist - create a non-traditional Christmas card using the sketch. This week is also our judged challenge... the design team will be voting on our favorite entries this week, so bring your A-game! You have a chance at winning a prize from our fabulous sponsor - Close To My Heart Consultant, Debi.
Theresa generously provided the team with some great CTMH stamps to work with this week. I got to ink up a fun, whimsical set called Christmas Cheer. I originally thought I would use the Santa image that comes with the set, but as soon as the stamps were in my hands, I knew this tree would be perfect for the sketch! I went with a non-traditional color combo... I found some scraps of Bo Bunny Double Dot in Kiwi and Passion Fruit, and I think they worked perfectly together for my girly Christmas card!

Supplies: Hammermill White CS; Wausau Black CS; Bo Bunny Double Dot Kiwi, Passion Fruit;
Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Tart, Rose Bud Inks; Recollections Extra Fine Glitter; Ribbon;
Petite Oval and Petite Scalloped Oval Nestabilities; Copics
Copics Used:
Tree - YG25, YG03, YG01
Pot - 100, T7, T6, T5, T5
Trunk - E59, E57, E55
