Turtle's Friend
Happy Saturday!
I don't know about you, but no matter how many Copics I collect, it still seems like I don't have enough colors!! I'm very matchy-matchy, and like to color my images to coordinate with my papers. So, when I didn't have the right shade of green Copics to go with this pretty striped paper from Martha Stewart, I improvised! I colored the turtle with a combination of Copics and Watercolor Pencils. If you want to see how, I created a simple tutorial here. Go easy on me... it's my first one! I just thought maybe someone out there hasn't tried this, and might benefit from me sharing! :)
So, onto today's card... the image is a digi called Turtle's Friend by Meljen's Designs. This card is for the Meljen's Challenge this week - to use pastels on your project; and also for the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge this week - a "LOVE" Recipe:
L = have 2 or more Layers (check!)
O = an Odd # of embellishments (check!)
V = use Violet on your creation (check!)
E = use any color EXCEPT red (check!)
Supplies: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White CS; Bazzil Quartz CS; Martha Stewart Playful Pink (striped and lt. pink CS);
Palette Noir Ink; TAC Pocket Peepers (sentiment); Button; White Thread; Pop Dots; Prismacolor Pencil; Copics
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have the chance to get crafty this weekend!

Oh, Scrap!
It's challenge time again at Whimsie Doodles! This month we want you to create a project using only scraps! This was an easy one for me... I save even the tiniest scraps, because they come in handy for my favorite technique - paper piecing! I used an older image for my card, from the Sentiment-Edibles set. The image is actually a 2-scoop cone... I just added an extra scoop!
(Supplies: Bazzill Maltball CS; Paper Co. Tan CS; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White CS;
Various Scraps; Pop Dots; Stitching; Copics)
I only used a few copics for coloring the cone, and shading the scoops - E53, E51, and E50. And everything except the white cardstock, and card base are from my scraps! This card is also being entered in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #39 - Paper Piecing.
You can see all the details for entering the Whimsie Doodles Oh, Scrap! Challenge here. Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see how you put your scraps to use!
I Love You...
... this much! Isn't this image adorable?! I was a lucky winner at last week's Meljen's "Hearts" Challenge, and recieved 2 free digis! It was tough to narrow my choice down to just 2 images... so my kiddos helped me decide! This one was their favorite!
Supplies: Georgia Pacific White CS; Paper Co. Chocolate CS; Paper Co. Tan CS; Bazzill Berrylicious CS;
TAC Catelynn PP; Cuttlebug Love Language Embossing Folder; Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities;
Paper Piercer; Tan Scrappers Floss; Button; Pop Dots; Stardust Glitter Gel Pen; Copics)
Copic Colors Used:
E57, E55, E30, E50 - Bears
R32, R30 - Ears, Cheeks
R37, R35, R32 - Hearts
BG0000 - Outline
I used the Sweet Stop Sketch #144 for the layout, and I'm also entering this into another Meljen's Challenge - "Loving You".
Thanks for stopping by today! Let me know what you think!
