Fun In The Sun

It's my turn to be in the "spotlight" at A Random Fan today! I can't get enough of these adorable images! They are so fun to color, and make a sweet focal point for a clean and simple card.
I've colored up Cali Girl this time. We've had beautiful weather in Southern California lately, and my kiddos are already asking if we can go to the beach! Not warm enough for a beach day just yet, but thinking about it inspired my card...
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Wausau Black CS, Fancy Pants Beach Babe 6x6, Versafine Onyx Black Ink,
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, YNS Cloud Die, Pop Dots, C.C. Designs - AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments, Copics
I colored Cali Girl with Copics, then masked her and sponged some clouds behind her with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and my YNS Puffy Cloud Die. I colored the ground, and then use the pointillism technique to give it the look of sand. The sentiment is from AmyR Sweet Summer Sentiments from C.C. Designs.

Skin - E11, E00, E000, E0000, R30
Hair - E59, E37, E35, E33

I have a super sweet card to share today! My favorite YNS girlie, Fhiona is all dressed up for ballet in this months new clear set, Dance Fhiona, and she couldn't look any cuter! I've colored her with Copics, and used Stardust Stickles to add some sparkle to her tutu and headband. The corner is embellished with a few YNS Gumdrops... I used Crystal Clear Gumdrops, but colored them with my R83 Copic to match my papers.

My next project is a quick little gift perfect for a coffee lover! I found these fun coffee bean notepad and pen sets a couple of years ago (I think from the Target Dollar Spot), and grabbed a few of them thinking they would be fun to alter some day. With this month's new Thanks A Latte set, they finally served a purpose!
I used the YNS Banner/Fishtail Die and paper-pieced a sweet little coffee cup onto the front. I love the cute little faces included in this set, and it's full of punny coffee sentiments, too!!

The wait is over... the first 2 Cute Ink Challenge starts today!!
It's a Color Challenge!

The Design Team has been hard at work preparing some very cute cards for your inspiration using some newly released images in the 2 Cute Ink Etsy Store. I had the pleasure of working with the adorable new Country Mouse Couple. I used just the boy mouse for my card today. I was a little intimidated by the color combo at first, but as soon as I saw this image, it all came together! I colored him with Copics, and the layout is a slight variation of this weeks Sketch Saturday. The sentiment is from another new set from 2 Cute Ink... Country Sentiments.
Supplies: Neenah Desert Storm CS, Hammermill White CS, TAC Brown CS, Scraps, Circle Nestabilities,
YNS Star Die, Button, Jute Twine, Copics
Copics:

My o"FISH"al Valentines
It's time for a new Whimsie Doodles Monthly Challenge! Tracy is our hostess this month, and she has challenged us to make
Anything But A Card!
I love to make unique little treat packages for my kiddos (and they love it when I do!), so for Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fun to tuck something into their lunchboxes for school.
These mini to-go containers are from Smart & Final (think restaurant supply store), and I filled them with some French Toast flavored Goldfish Graham Crackers. Yum!
The tops of the containers are decorated using the Valentine Messages from Whimsie Doodles. I paper-pieced all of the fish in the kids favorite colors, and backed them with a coordinating scalloped circle die cut.
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Doodlebug paper scraps, Recollections CS, Treat Cups, Circle and Scalloped Circle Dies
These were so fun and easy to make, and a sweet surprise for the kiddos!

Sketch Saturday #297
It's that time again sketch fans... we have a new challenge for you at the Sketch Saturday Blog! Vannessa has designed a fantastic, versatile layout for us this week...

...and this week Dilly Beans is our generous sponsor! One lucky winner will receive 3 digis!
I have had this Amalia and Laylah clear stamp from There She Goes (sadly out of business now) for a few months, and now finally had the chance to ink it up. The digital version from Dilly Beans can be found here.
I colored them up with Copics to match some fun paper from the Doodlebug Flower Box pad, then fussy cut them, and popped them up on the circle. The sentiment is from the S.W.A.L.K. Best Friends set from Crafter's Companion. (I just found out that they are discontinuing the S.W.A.L.K. line, so if you love these stamps like me, you can get them for a great price before they are gone!)
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Bazzill Mocha Divine CS, Neenah Desert Storm CS, Doodlebug Flower Box 6x6,
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Button, Brown Twine, Circle Nestabilities, Pop Dots, Copics
Copics:
Skin - E11, E00, E0000, R30
Hair - E59, E37, E35, E33
Yellow Dress - Y15, Y13, Y11, Y000 and RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21
