Space Cadet Bookmark
We've got a little bit of inspiration for you at the Whimsie Doodles Blog today using the new Background Borders set.
As soon as I saw these images, I thought of bookmarks! My kiddos are already avid readers at ages 7 and 6, and we never seem to have enough bookmarks to go around! The long narrow dimensions of these images are perfect for that, I just needed to add a punny sentiment about reading!
I used the moon border for this bookmark for my son. I printed the image to 6" by 2", and colored the moon. Then I masked off the moon, and sponged three colors of Distress Inks for the sky (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans). I didn't bother masking the stars, I just sponged right over them, and then covered them with glitter after. The little astronaut and Earth are from the new Space Cadets set, and both are just slightly popped up on the scene.
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Wausau Black CS, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen, Pop Dots, Copics
Copics:
Skin - E11, E21, E000, E0000, R30
Spacesuit - T2, T1, T0
Red Stripes - R59, R29, R27, R24, R22
Moon, Shadow on Earth - T5, T3, T2, T1, T0
Earth - YG17, YG25, YG03 and BG000
I asked Eli if he wanted me to put a ribbon on the end of his bookmark, but he said that would make it look "girly".
He seems to approve of the finished product... he carried it around the house with him for a couple of hours after I made it!
It melts my heart to see how much he loves what I created for him! :)

You're Kinda Nutty...
I'm back!!
It is World Card Making Day after all... ;)
If you are not a fan of the C.C. Designs Facebook Page, you should become one... NOW!
Christine posted a super cute freebie digi today, and I'm not sure how long it will be available!
I couldn't wait to color up the freebie! The image is called PBandJ, but this is only half of it. I'm hoping I will get a chance to color up the "J" later tonight!
I colored her with Copics, and popped her up on a simple card. The sentiment is from the Whimsie Doodles Oh Nuts! set from AJVD. I embellished just a little by adding a cut from the C.C. Cutters Banner Tags Die into the corner, and topped it with a chipboard heart from the Hearts-a-Plenty Chipboard Cutouts.
The cute gingham print is a page from the Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6x6 Kraft Assortment Pad.
Supplies: Hammermill White CS, Neenah Desert Storm CS, Doodlebug Kraft in Color 6x6 Kraft Pad,
Versafine Onyx Ink, CC Chips, CC Cutters Banner Tags Die, MFT Notebook Edge Die, Pop Dots, Copics

Inspiration Thursday!
It's time for another Inspiration Thursday in the Little Miss Muffet Facebook Group! The Little Misses will be popping in throughout the day to share their latest creations, so be sure to check it out!
Now... can you tell where I almost RUINED this card??
See that massive brown smudge by his left cheek!? There he was so nicely colored, ready to be put on the card, and that little inky brown finger print appeared out of no where!! What's a girl to do? Start over and color a new image... ummmm, NO! Not this girl anyway! So I grabbed my Gathered Twigs and Antique Linen Distress Inks, and got to work! I inked up all the egdes, and then just dabbed the inky sponges in a few places to mimic the mistake smudge.
What do you think??
